BLAVET VALLEY LAKES – catch reports w/c 17/04/10



Sorry for the delay in posting this report – it’s been hectic.



Catches this week were down on previous weeks, the weather was very hot all week and high pressure.



We were pleased to welcome back Ian Foster and his party from Tonbridge and Orpington Kent for the 3^rd year running, it was great to see you all again.



No anglers fished on Thursday as it was a day for celebrating Nick’s birthday, what a great laugh and we loved your fancy dress costumes – Hope you liked you cake Nick.



Total fish landed for the week was 57 – 54 carp up to 50lb – 2 cats 28lb and 24lb and 1 sturgeon at 25lb.



Ian’s catch for the week was 18 up to 33lb 12ozs and a 24 lb cat – best result ever for Ian – nice one matey.



Chris Fathers managed 6 carp – desperate for his 1^st 30lber, he landed a 50lb common then a 40lb 8oz mirror and then got his 32lb mirror. Well done on your new p.b’s



Nick Fathers – the birthday boy landed 13, 12 carp including a new p.b. 33lb 8ozs mirror and a new p.b. sturgeon at 25lb



Steve Fathers landed 6 carp including a new p.b 33lbs 8ozs mirror and 30lb mirror could have had loads more – couldn’t you Steve well done on you new p.b.



Mick Holland managed 5 (he spent every day fishing the match lake having a great time)

He landed a new p.b. cat 28lb a p.b. grass carp 31lb and a 31lb 8oz mirror – Well done.



Dave Bryce – the nutter landed 8 up to 26lbs 8ozs – he also spent time with Mick on the match lake – well done.



Paul Tooth who joined Ian for his 1^st time here did not really spend the week fishing especially when he landed a p.b. mirror of 33lb – nice to meet you Paul.



As usual with this group it was laughter all the way and cant wait to see you all again on 7^th May 2011 – keep in touch guys.

No signs of spawning yet and we dont think it will happen for a while, the weather over the past couple of days has got really cold and windy, highest temperature over the next 14 days only shows a high of 15 degrees.
Just waiting for the final catch reports for last week to come in and then will post them.

Total fish caught 94 – best week ever 90 carp, 3 cats and 1 sturgeon



3 x 50 +’s (10 x 50+’s this season) and 3 x 40+’s

Chris Rob and Dave from the North East returned for their fourth visit, great to see you all again, and look forward to seeing you again in August.



Chris 10 fish: including 51.6oz mirror New p.b., 7 mid to high 20's 1 single and 1 mid 20 cat



Rob 11 fish including 44.4oz mirror (New p.b.), 10 mid to high 20's



Dave 16 fish including 6 mid to high 30's 6 mid to high 20's 3 high doubles and the sturgeon at 25lbs



total 37 fish - 35 carp - 1 cat and 1 sturgeon

Dave Ball and his mates from Weston-Super-Mare joined us for their first visit, nice to meet you guys and look forward to seeing you all next year.



Dave landed 30 carp including 6 from 30 - 38lb 10ozs.



Rhys landed 6 fish - 5 carp 2 x 52lb commons, 40lb 8oz mirror, 33lb common,
29lb 14 oz mirror (average carp over 41lb 8oz) and 21lb catfish.



Tyrone landed 6 carp up to 39lb 4oz



Barry - piglet

Landed 14 fish - 13 carp up to 42lb 2oz mirror, 2 x 30+ mirrors and a 30lb cat.



Roman 1 - 28lb mirror – said next year he will listen to us - ;-)



total 57 fish 55 carp and 2 cats

All had new p.b. s (not sure about Dave though)



A great week was had by all and look forward to seeing you all next year.
