Large fish kills have put the kybosch on the place for the last few years, it will be back at some stage but not for a good while yet. Steve Briggs talks about the place at length in his book and reckons everything over 50 is long dead.

There was a stocking of fish from the Danube prior to one of the Fishing comps held there with the thinking that more fish caught would be great exposure for the lake. It created a huge fish kill with many fish over 40lbs floating up within days.

Avoid like the plague for a few years yet. It held the old mirror record of 82lbs 3oz to Christian Baldeman of Austria but it has been surpassed by nearly 10lbs by Luc Moffats fish at his lake in Dijon France. If the place remained as it were prior to the stocking who knows but the fish seemed to have maxed out around the high 70 mark. Paisleys Common of 73 came from there in early 2000's also.
