PostSubject: France trip   Thu Aug 07, 2008 4:00 pm

Well lads, Back on Irish soil again after two mental weeks fishing. I had grass, mirror, common and leather carp as well as cat fish, Bream and Sturgen. Had a great craic. I'll put some lake pics and fish pics on the site. Had a great time, the trip was well organised by Paul from Lake escapes, basically i flew to Stansted and managed to get everything i needed on the plane, rods, pod, tackle. The flight was €170 return with ryan air and that was including a booking the rod bag as specialist sports equipment which means the bag was well taken care off (€60 extra onto €110 for the flight= €170 in total)Paul picked me and the bags up at Stansted and he drove to dover (2 hours) onto the ferry to Calais (under 2 hours) and drove to the lake (4-5 hours). Once at the lake bivvies, unhooking mat, brew kit (tea, milk, coffee), bed, chair and 5 kg of bait was waiting for you all included in the price £450 for the weeks fishing and travel. Bait and food available at the lake 24 hours (extra). I had a breakfast roll and lunch delivered to the swim each day and at 6 we reeled in for dinner, (an example of the food served-spag bol, curry, steak and a BBQ) the food was mighty and so was the craic. The fishing is 24 hours and the place is secured with massive fences, it would be an ideal spot for people who have never fished for large carp as this is a guided trip and the guide will bivvy up beside you for as long as want to help you out.. Fish to 50lb+, good head of 40+ and loads of 30+ carp.Paul told me he rarely gets Irish and if a group booked he would give a discount. Check out the website as he does trips to spain for cats and everyone who has been out on the spain trips have had cats in excess of 100+ and if you dont get a 100+ cat you get to come out next year for free. I've been to france fishing in the past a good few times and this really took the hassle out of it and was cheaper to fly to stansted than take the ferry from wexford which would have cost me €1000+. Check out the site lads and make your own minds up, i'm not trying to sell the place you might not like it i really enjoyed it.Each to thier own.
