Has anyone ever fished this place or heard anything about it ???
I am after getting offered a free press trip out there if I put up an article on this forum.
I have heard the place is huge and there was 4 x 70lb fish out since christmas but it is very hard to get info on the place.
Were also fishing a place called Alcantara Lake and some lake in Trujilo so I'm after info on them as well.

PostSubject: Orellana Lake   Thu May 22 2008, 02:48

I am going to the lake just above it in 3 weeks time. I think there are 5 reservoirs on the Guadiana river which are all in reach of eachother by just 2 hours drive. (3.5 hours South of Madrid)

The Orellana reservoir was built in 1961, It has 90% Common Carp, 10% Mirror Carp, Camizo Barbel (to 30lb), Big shouls of Tench and Pike. Average Carp weight is 25lb but many 40lbers, The biggest Carp caught was 38 KG (83lb). They introduces the American Cray fish 10 years ago and the fish have put of massive weight since. The size of the Orellana is 5000 KM'2 and the Carp are all wild and prob never caught before.

I havent heard of the last 2 but i think i read about the Trujilo but i cant find where now, Im going to the Sierra Brava reservoir. If they are bringing you to a few places then you'll prob head there too.

I found it very hard to find info on these places too but have a read through these links. The second one are catch reports and pictures and include the Orellana

Some lovely looking wild fish

Best of luck:D

Not a chance Tony Razz
I'd say we will only fit in about 2 days fishing the rest will be sight seeing and getting shown around the place.
