hi matt,i know very little about pcs,but something
similar happened me once.a mate of mine went into
system recovery and system restore and put in the
date of the day before the bad download, the pc
reset itself to that day,bad boy gone,i think.anyway
had no probs since, but im sure one of our more pc
minded members will have a better, easier way.i must
do a nite class sometime Very Happy ,

Aye, system restore. Restore it to a point before you downloaded the problem program. Download yourself AVG Free edition. Just google it and download. Have had it for years now and not a bother. It updates itself everyday also which is great.

Try CCleaner, its better than windows clean up, uninstalls software and cleans up registry errors, also startup mechanic, will scan your system and let you enable disable software from gobbling up your system resources.
