| lads just wondering from you's who have travelled abroad to fish before and used airtravel, all we need to bring is end tackle alarms and reels, what im wondering is will we be allowed bring our reels and alarms onboard the plane as carry on lugigage?id feel safer doin this cos theres about 1500 worth of gear in them alone and i dont want it gettin lost, what i was thinkin if we took spools off the rels and batteries out of alarms would any there be probs? |

| Reels are fine, but they dont like the spools on them, no hooks, or anything sharp. Alarms are fine, but I always take the batts out as they tend to get a bit suspect at times! |

| When i flew over here from NZ i took 4 reels loaded with line in my hand luggage, had to change planes at Singapore and going through customs they pulled me aside and started going through my bag.....was so funny when the little asian pulled out the biggest reel of the lot then asked me what it was for? I was stumped as you can imagine and said to him, "well what do you reckon mate" embarassed he quickly packed the reel back in my bag and hurried me through. To be safe, spool up when you get there. |

| You can bring your reel and alarms on as hand luggage but you canīt bring line that would have to go through as check in luggage,Anythning that is sharp (hooks, baiting needles, scissors etc...) must be put on as check in luggage. It`s only 8 euro each way for baggage up to 15 kg so your better off putting it through as that. _________________ One Depressed Carper............
