| Get the swim to the left of the cabin. Out in front of where the sewer is. Deepest spot on the lake, caught loads from there. And put the bait in! Put out a marker in an out of the way spot and feed it regularly all week. Leave the spot alone until maybe the tuesday and then get the rods in there. You should have built up a good spot where the fish will have dropped their guard a bit while feeding without lines in the area. That tactic produced 3 30's and 5 high 20's for me back in 2006. _________________ "82% of Corkonians believe they are the chosen ones while 18% believe they are the ones who'll do the choosing". |

| Hi there Weather being appaling but set to be better this week. I spoke to Laurent Bigot yesterday and he concurred it's hard at the moment. I hope the guys get amongst the fish this week, some good carp to be had in this superb fishery. Recent stockings have seen 46 fish added from 16-27lb for an average of 23lb. So I should imagine the guys will get a few fish. Keep us posted... it's only Monday.
cheers Gareth |

| Just back from the trip now. I`ll be getting into the nitty gritty of the highs and lows of the trip(.ie sharing the lake with some really annoying anglers) but the fish count went as follows. Dave phelan had 12 fish. best were 38.1lb,39.8lb,41.9 & 42.8 new PB. Richie had 4 fish. Best grassy of the week at 31,2lb,26lb &19 mirror and the suprise fish of the trip a 6lb8oz eel. I started off slow blankin for 3 days on the cabin swim so decided to hit winter point for the last of the session. End up with 6 fish,1 small grassy,24 common. 14,17,26.8 & 33.5lb mirrors. It was hard going as the fish were still tightly bunched in 2 areas of the lake and only spread around after 3-4 days. I`ll post some pics soon, wrecked at the minute.. |
