I think Damienmark was heading down there last August. I never found out if he went in the end.

There's a few of us looking at taking a trip down there maybe towards the back end of this year. Very handy as we can fly direct from Cork to Lorient airport which is only a 40 mins collection drive away from the lake for 70 quid return. All the gear is hireable so you only need to bring your tacklebox and sleeping bag which saves a bomb on excess luggage charges. All meals can be delivered to your bivvy as a full menu is provided for your weeks fishing. With the lake now producing fish above 50lbs, it is coming together as a fantastic choice of venue for anybody flying from Ireland. All the ferries and driving can be a nightmare whereas with Blavet Valley's package you hop on a plane here, 2 hr flight, 40 minute drive and you're fishing inside 4 hours for 50lb+ fish.

All the info on packages etc. should be on their webby:

Just looked and can't find the price. I'd say just email them and they'll be back to you ASAP. Seem a nice old bunch from what I've heard.

So easy to fish there now with flights leaving from Waterford Airport direct to Lorient which is so close to the fishery. Airport to the bank in under three hours, sweet!

just a quick update

The weather here over the past few days has been great, although the nights have been cold we have had brilliant sunshine, today the thermometer in the sun reached 26 degrees.

It was wonderful to go down the lake and see the fish making an apprearance on the top, they were everywhere, looking really stunning.

Being feed twice a day with the automatic feeder has bought them on a treat.

all the best Berny and Gordon
